Procedure and Recovery
The FakeLift® procedure takes almost no preparation and, in most cases, can be performed on the same day as your consultation. After discussing your concerns with your injector and agreeing on your treatment plan, your injector will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream.
Once the target areas are numb, your injector will treat each area of the face one at a time using the cannula technique. Following an initial puncture into the target area, your injector will insert a very thin, blunt cannula beneath the skin and gradually inject the filler throughout the target area. This technique allows for fewer injection sites and minimizes the risk of bruising.
Mild swelling following the FakeLift® is possible. This swelling usually occurs the day after treatment and lasts for 2-3 days. Significant bruising and swelling are possible but rare, especially when patients carefully avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, Motrin/ibuprofen, Aleve/Naprosyn, fish oil, vitamin E, and flaxseed oil for 2 weeks prior to treatment. To further minimize bruising, Dr. Nayak recommends avoiding exercise for 24 hours. Beyond that, there is no aftercare required.
